In LucasArt's documentary, the developers take us down for the first time under the surface of Coruscant, to that famous 1313th level in Star Wars 1313. Coruscant's crime-filled underworld is said to be the most dangerous place in the Star Wars universe.
This part of Coruscant has never been shown before by LucasArts, and it is the developer's goal to introduce us to this massive, somber and unexplored territory.
"In every city you've got the bad part of town, well this is a city that's made up of the bad part of town, described LucasArts lead artist Dave Smith. "It's old. It's got a lot of history. It's just not somewhere that you want to be caught on an alley on a Friday night."
It may not be the safest of cities, but hearing the developer's thoughts makes me want to wander around level 1313 even more.
"With the amount of detail that's gone into making this world, we really have only just scratched the surface," concluded creative director Dominic Robilliard, "and there's going to be a lot more to hear about it in the future."
Level 1313 is a long way down, but just as much is LucasArts' next-gen game far from its release. Are you excited to see more of this game?
