Microsoft will reveal the next-generation Xbox, and successor to the Xbox 360, in an online presentation on May 22 at 3am, AEST.

The event will be live streamed on Xbox.com.au and through Xbox Live.

"We'll share our vision for Xbox, and give you a real taste of the future. Then, 19 days later at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles, we'll continue the conversation and showcase our full lineup of blockbuster games," said Xbox's Larry Hryb.

Microsoft's next Xbox could feature glasses-free 3D, room-wide television projections, tablet functionality and could even require a constant internet connection if rumours are to be believed.

I'll read about it when I wake. I'm not staying up for Microsoft. :P
wow awesome
FINALLY!!!!!

Hopefully all the stupid rumours will stop now
3am on a Wednesday morning! I may get up and watch it. Maybe.
I might watch it depending on how much data I have left by then.
I have STRONG EVIDENCE to suggest that the following elements will be present with the new console.. my evidence is outlined alongside my points.

 •  1. The console will be smaller than the Xbox 360
-> "A NEW GENERATION", as written on the above announcement, is a reference to life cycles in living beings. When a new generation is born, they are of significantly smaller size than their birthing parents. It is only natural to conclude therefore, that the next Xbox will be smaller than its predecessor, the 360.

 •  2. The operating system will revolve very heavily around social media.
-> It is very clear that Facebook, Twitter, and the Xbox's own social service will be the core features of the new consoles operating system. Clear evidence for this is shown through the use of a hash-tag, a punctuation mark which has heavily influenced social media.

 •  3. The next Xbox console will have a belated release in Australia
-> You'd be stupid not to know this when Australia has to specifically have its own unveiling date announced. It's very clear, ladies and gentlemen. Very much so.

 •  4. The console will feature green LEDs shining through a vent in the bottom of the console
-> Again, I would be strongly surprised if anyone had any evidence to refute this FACT. We are shown this by the green bar at the bottom of the announcement. The rest of the console, clearly, will be black.

With a grain of salt, my friends. [MOG]

It won't be called Xbox 720.

It'll be Pizza Hut Presents Xbox.
I'm more interested in what games they have to show off, given that Halo & Gears Of War were released fairly recently (i know Halo was last year, but still relatively recent), i don't see them bringing out new versions of those series in under a year, so they will have to go with new games for the most part (or maybe a reboot of something), hopefully see something good :)

let's hope they've got some original titles that aren't just kinect only games where we'll see them taking advantage of the new system.
