Tomb Raider publisher, Square Enix, believes the game can be the best game of the generation.
The series has been on a hiatus this generation, with rushed ports and forgettable entries, although the new, revamped Lara Croft certainly has plenty of spunk and grit, which certainly gives the new game plenty of potential.
Mike Fischer, president and chief executive of the U.S. division of Square Enix, certainly sees the potential.
"I can look you in the eye and tell you, honest to goodness, we want this to be the best game of the generation," said Mr Fischer. "And the time that we’re giving it is going to allow that to happen."
He also said that E3 attendees will love what they see next week.
"Look, you’re going to see the game at E3. Tell me if you think I’m blowing smoke your way," he quipped. "It’s really that good."
