Shock horror! Sledgehammer Games working on new Call of Duty

Sledgehammer Games is working on its second Call of Duty game following the release of 2011's Modern Warfare 3, according to a job listing on the firm's website.

The studio is on the look-out for Senior FX Artist to help "create the most exceptional real-time effects with hyper realism for [its] next Call of Duty game".

Potential employees should also have a "solid professional experience and knowledge of the limitations and performance of current generation hardware (360, PS3)."

Sledgehammer Games was called in to help Modern Warfare-series developer, Infinity Ward, on the second sequel for the popular shooter franchise, which debuted in 2007 with Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.

The studio was originally believed to be working on a third-person Call of Duty game before it joined Infinity Ward on Modern Warfare 3.

The newest Call of Duty, Black Ops II, is due for release in November and is being developed by Treyarch.

Modern Warfare 3 was a truly awful title, what has become of Infinity Ward?
Amazing that such an average developer as Treyarch are seen as the better devs now.

bugs here and there, and they don't know how to balance ****ing guns.. each patch that comes out, something else ****s up.

I MIGHT buy this, I say that with every COD, but after Battlefield and actually playing an FPS for once, who knows.

They need to bring the game back to scratch, get rid of all the stupid helicopters and a million perks. How about focus on dedicated servers where u dont have lag every time you play the game. Where sniper bullets can brush past you and you die.

You can see it now cyborg ops 2 more perks more crap and a shitty game which everyone buys cause they want it to be like the first ones.

@Beta: Nice call ;)
But in all honesty, it is a bad game. I guess it's really only the social aspect that makes me play it. I only ever play when people are on though, and it's sad to say thats probably the case with all my friends; we play it because our friends play it and my attempt to convert them all to Halo is failing :(
