Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City has sold 2 million units worldwide, according to the game’s publisher, Capcom.
The company released its annual financial report today, revealing that the Slant Six-developed game had moved 1.7 million units as of 31 March.
The game hasn’t been well-received by critics, with MMGN ranking the game a 4/10 calling it a “sea of missed opportunities”.
The sales figures certainly prove that the franchise still has a strong fanbase, despite fledging quality since Resident Evil 5.
Street Fighter X Tekken managed to sell 1.4 million since its March release, and alongside Monster Hunter Tri G’s staggering 1.6 million sales in Japan alone, paint a pretty picture for Capcom’s fiscal quarter.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t to be for the publisher, with net sales down 16 per cent year-on-year, while operating income fell 13.8 per cent.
