Need for Speed: Most Wanted Announced

The official Need for Speed Facebook page has confirmed that Need for Speed: Most Wanted will be the next installment to the franchise, and will be created by the developers of the succesful Burnout series, Criterion Games.

EA will be revealing more about the game at E3, stating "Make sure to watch our E3 press conference live on June 4th at 1PM (PST) for more info!"

Criterion have always developed and produced high-quality racers with the Burnout series, and Most Wanted should be no exception.

What are your thoughts on the announcement?

Since Criterion are making it (and did a great job with Hot Pursuit) and I loved the original Most Wanted, I'll definitely be buying this =D

Criterions first first dip into the NFS franchise Hot Pursuit i thought was rubbish. The handling sucked and the whole feeling of that franchise was lost on me. It just felt like a new Burnout.

Apart from the first Underground title, Most Wanted has to be my favourite NFS. I liked the weight and feeling of the cars plus the gameplay was fun, do i trust Criterion behind it? one word, no. Yet another Burnout? probably...

Agreed. I ****ing hated Hot Pursuit. Words cannot describe how much I hated that game.

Arcade is one thing, but to the point where there is next to no skill involved? **** that. Give me Forza/Gran Turismo any day. I hate games with catchup, especially if it is INCREDIBLY obvious.

...sorry for the double post, just a little trivia, the original Most Wanted was supposed to be the first Ps3 nfs realesed, don't know why it wasn't, but carbon ended up being the first...

...I had it on an e3 DVD years ago, when the ps3 was 'wireless' and the remote was like a boomerang lol...
