Microsoft is looking to "further monetize" Xbox Live, according to a job description on a LinkedIn profile.
"Developed strategy to further monetize Xbox LIVE subscriber base that will be implemented for holiday 2012," was listed on Group Product Planner, Praveen Rutnam's CV.
It's unclear what this means exactly, and while it is written in past tense, it does make mention of a late 2012 launch, making it entirely plausible that Rutnam laid the groundwork for extra fees to be introduced around Christmas time.
However, it could also be less sinister and nothing more than a reference to Microsoft's plan to phase out Microsoft Points and replace them with standard money.
