In an interview with French gaming magazine, IG, Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima has confirmed that Metal Gear Solid 5 is currently in development.
Kojima stated, "There will be a Metal Gear Solid 5 with the new FOX engine..There will be much question of infiltration, espionage, and convincing people to give you “a favor” like in the last Metal Gear Solid. I liked the idea of social interactions in Deus Ex: Human Revolution, but we will see."
Metal Gear Solid 4's ending was thought to be the last gamers would see of protagonist Solid Snake - should Kojima have introduced a new hero in the next addition to the series? The idea of Deus Ex-esque elements incorporated into the game is also certainly intriguing.
More will hopefully be revealed regarding MGS5 at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show in September.
