The Mass Effect 3 Extended Cut downloadable content, which launches on Xbox Live in Australia tonight, won't offer any new endings to replace the original controversial conclusions.
Bioware confirmed that, while the DLC may provide the closure fans are seeking in the form of extended explanations of the game's many original endings, all new endings are not included.
“The extended cut is really more about taking the things that are there and making them shine even more, rather than trying to change and adapt what’s there to reach out to a broader audience that’s looking for something that was never intended,” said lead writer Mac Walters.
Executive producer, Casey Hudson, said that the extended cut wasn't done initially so that they could "make everybody happen and make it perfect".
“People wanted to see how their decisions resulted in consequences to the future of the Mass Effect universe... the endings left a lot to the player’s imagination,” said Hudson.
The Mass Effext 3 Extended Cut will be available for free from tonight on Xbox 360 and PC, and on PlayStation 3 on June 4.
