Harry Potter for Kinect announced

Harry Potter is an unstoppable franchise. With its the film series done and J.K. Rowling enjoying her much deserved finish from the novel series for the last couple of years, Warner Bros Interactive is hoping the HP fans looking for their next Wizard adventure fix will find it in Harry Potter Kinect.

The imaginatively titled Harry Potter game will be based on the saga of the eight films. Players will be joining Harry, Ron and Hermione "as they embark on an unforgettable journey through Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and beyond."

The game will use Kinect's face-scanning technology to enable players to scan their face to use on their own created wizard or witch in-game. Players can also cast spells through physical gestures and by calling out spell names.

The game will have several of the film's most memorable moments, such as the recieving your first wand at Olivanders, undergoing the Sorting Hat ceremony to determine your House, and even confronting Voldemort- sorry, He Who-Must-Not-Be-Named- himself. There will be many mini-games set in Hogwarts to immerse yourself in.

Harry Potter for Kinect is being developed by Eurocom and will be released later this year. Have a look at the announcement trailer below.

That girl looks terrifying in Kinect form.

Yeah, I'm worried for the viability of Kinect's face-scanning properties. Her face in-game just kept the same creepy smile and expression the entire time.
It will be shit..
