Gamers all over the world have demonstrated their excitement and passion for all things Halo as the Konsoles for Kids charity auction for the "Halo® 3" Xbox 360™ console has seen bidding on eBay skyrocket to over $21,000.

With one day to go until bidding closes, the "Halo 3" Xbox 360 console – exclusively customised with Halo artwork and signed by the game's development team at Bungie Studios – could possibly be one of the most expensive consoles ever to be sold in the world.

The Konsoles for Kids campaign began March 23 featuring a star studded array of Xbox 360 consoles auctioned off on a weekly basis with all proceeds donated to the Make-A-wish foundation. In addition to the money raised on eBay, Microsoft Australia will donate $1000 to Make-A-Wish for every customised Xbox 360 console that falls under the virtual hammer.

Nick Segger, Xbox Group Marketing Manager, says, "Xbox would like to thank everyone who participated in the auctions for lending their support to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The response to the whole Konsoles for Kids campaign has been fantastic, and the way Halo fans have reacted to the 'Halo 3' console has just been overwhelming. We're very hopeful of setting a new world record for a console sold."

The "Halo 3" console is the final auction in the Konsoles for Kids campaign. The total amount raised for the campaign to date is $20,250.00 with the amount expected to double after the "Halo 3" console auction concludes. i'd laugh if it turns out to be one of those ****ty consoles lol
yeah, that'd suck to pay 20 odd grand for 3 red lights
And warranty doesn't cover it because its been modified!
Lol, why bother playing an autographed and painted console? I'd just keep it somewhere safe and play a default one.
Usually it's businesses or museums that buy these sort of things. (yes, museums)
its obviously goes to a collector who keeps it in a cabinet. i mean who would actually use a console that expensive destrined to fail? you know those ppl who collect consoles and haul all thigns video gaming only to sell them for massive amounts of money once it becomes classic.
its sad what nerds are willing to pay for a console with airbrushed graphics and game developer signatures. Its not like its signed by anyone who will be remembered in 10 years.
Thats insane If i was ever to get a console like that i would put it in a glass case at the front door of my house.
I would use it until it dies then put it in a glass cabinet
IMO they would make more money if they airbrushed my face with a signature that reads "This was signed by the almighty stufa, this will never be forgot".

THAT would sell and be remembered for EVER!
i'd buy it and punch it

kidding mate, kidding
my awesomeness has been crushed....

:(

Very Highly doubt a museum would buy a peice of crap like this.

But they'd buy the George Foreman Grill you play Resistance on? Pffft.

Not a conventional Museum, but yes, there are museums that display technology and other things, in Belgium their is a Museum of chocolate, so i guess anything is possible.

A museum of chocolate? It must be closed during the summer.

A painting of Stephen Colbert sold for $50,000. So why doesn't this sell higher (other than Stephen Colbert being awesome I know that already).
