Gamers all over the world have demonstrated their excitement and passion for all things Halo as the Konsoles for Kids charity auction for the "Halo® 3" Xbox 360™ console has seen bidding on eBay skyrocket to over $21,000.
With one day to go until bidding closes, the "Halo 3" Xbox 360 console – exclusively customised with Halo artwork and signed by the game's development team at Bungie Studios – could possibly be one of the most expensive consoles ever to be sold in the world.
The Konsoles for Kids campaign began March 23 featuring a star studded array of Xbox 360 consoles auctioned off on a weekly basis with all proceeds donated to the Make-A-wish foundation. In addition to the money raised on eBay, Microsoft Australia will donate $1000 to Make-A-Wish for every customised Xbox 360 console that falls under the virtual hammer.
Nick Segger, Xbox Group Marketing Manager, says, "Xbox would like to thank everyone who participated in the auctions for lending their support to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The response to the whole Konsoles for Kids campaign has been fantastic, and the way Halo fans have reacted to the 'Halo 3' console has just been overwhelming. We're very hopeful of setting a new world record for a console sold."
The "Halo 3" console is the final auction in the Konsoles for Kids campaign. The total amount raised for the campaign to date is $20,250.00 with the amount expected to double after the "Halo 3" console auction concludes.
