E3 2009: Halo Reach announced

During Microsoft's E3 2009 keynote speech, Bungie's Joe Stanton announced an all-new entry to the Halo franchise with Halo: Reach.

A brief teaser was shown, showing the planet of Reach being destroyed from space. The teaser ended with the title "Halo: Reach" coming on screen.

The title is set to hit XBOX 360 sometime in 2010 and it was also confirmed that anyone who purchases Halo ODST will be able to play the exclusive demo BETA of Halo Reach.

More as we get it.

I'm betting it will be a pre-order thing available in short numbers, possibly only in the US, that's the problem with stuff like this, we don't have any specifics yet. I'm not keen on trying a beta anyway, but I'll probably pick up ODST and Reach.

Sweet. I've read Halo: The Fall of Reach so I'm guess it'll be based when either the Humans try to take it back or when the Covenant attack it

I've read all 6 novels, the graphic novel and the comics

I think its awesome that its going to be based on the FOR story.

Speaking of Halo books, there's a new Halo series of comics out now. First issue should be in your local comic book shop. Had a skim through it...not bad...but not a fan so I passed.

Wouldn't be able to tell you, man. Didn't really pay much attention to the title. All I remember is that it has a Spartan kneeling down and an orange/reddish background.

I wish I liked Halo, that way I'd have at least 1-2 good exclusive(s) to play each year. Is it just me or does Microsoft need more exclusive games? Sony has LittleBigPlanet, inFamous, Resistance, Syphon Filter, God of War, Motorstorm, Gran Turismo, MGS4, Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted... Microsoft has Halo, Fable, Gears of War, more Halo, Forza...

They're no match for Sony in the exclusives department, it seems all they care about is stealing some of Sony's exclusives when they should really focus on making a decent exclusive series.

I'm also forgetting Heavy Rain, MAG and Agent on Sony's side, but they're unreleased just like Alan Wake and Crackdown 2. And I forgot Left 4 Dead for Microsoft.

I'm just disappointed that Microsoft isn't expanding their exclusive series. They could create a stealth series, platformer series, something innovative like LittleBigPlanet and an adventure series instead of milking the Halo series dry. If you own a 360 and don't like Halo you're getting gypped.

Half of those are RPGs. Saints Row 2 is on PS3. PGR sucks compared to Forza. Project Sylphee?

I sold my PS3 and bought a 360 at the start of this year, bad decision in retrospect (selling the PS3, not buying a 360.) I'm not saying the 360 sucks I'm saying it has ****ty exclusives compared to PS3, or am I not allowed to say that because I'm on a 360 forum?

Also you think that the 360 has ****ty exclusives, most people are happy that MS can still hold on the market 2 years in.
