During Microsoft's E3 2009 keynote speech, Remedy showed off Alan Wake ingame footage and gameplay. They also confirmed that the title will hit XBOX 360 in Spring of 2010 (Autumn for us Aussie folk).
The gameplay shown was very impressive, showing Alan moving through a dark town with a flashlight as he comes face-to-face with devilish and supernatural creatures. In one instance, he rushes through a room of creatures while holding a flare. It's clear that light can be used as a weapon in the game, as whenever Alan shone his torch on an enemy, they would begin to burn and scream.
It was one of the many highlights of a great keynote presentation by Microsoft.
