It was revealed earlier this year that the XBOX 360 version of Battlefield 3 will run on two discs. At first many people were disappointed, but now it looks like it won't be so bad afterall. It has been confirmed that the first Disc will be entirely dedicated to the single player campaign, while the second disc will be used solely for online multiplayer.
A nice little bonus has come out of all of this. According to a report from
Gamerzines , the second disc will also have an installable higher-resolution texture pack that will make the game look very pretty, much prettier than what would be streaming from the optical disc alone. Battlefield 3 producer, Patrick Liu, says that the feature is "voluntary", so if you don;t want a nicer looking image, you don;t need to use it.
Battlefield 3 will be released in Australia for XBOX 360, PlayStation 3 and PC on October 27th.
