ok i looked it up and it seems some people say that they come from the same refinerys. but in sydney we have a shell and a caltex refinery so thats two different fuels.

also alot of people still seem to prefer BP or caltex and alot are rubbishing Shell. that many people cant be wrong.

What are they basing the "rubbishing" on?
I mean, are they doing knock tests after 3 full tanks (to flush out any other company's fuels) and finding that Shell is inferior?
Or are they just filling up, thinking it feels crap and then just badmouthing it over that?

100% that here in WA it all comes from the 1 refinery, so if anything happens to it to degrade the quality of fuel it happens between the refinery and the pump, not the creation process.

i dont know what they are basing it on but i guess they are keyboard warriors like all of us.

best practice tho is to use the busiest petrol station near you as the fuel wont sit in the tank as long as others thus wont be as contaminated.

also a major factor is your preferred supermarket. BP doesnt do discounts so alot of people go to either caltex or shell depeding whether they shop at woolies or coles respectively.

yeah and that's fair enough, everyone is a little bit bias, no matter how hard they try to not be.

I've used BP for the longest for 98 and I used to work for them so I am biased towards them, even though it really doesn't matter.
Don't know which caltex's in Perth supply 98, so haven't been to them before.
Probably would more often though because we shop at Woolies so get bulk dockets.

pretty much every servo round sydney does all fuel types. its when you go country that you might not get the high octane stuff.

4c a litre doesnt make much difference unless you fill up a 4WD like ours with two tanks combined at 150 litres. its good when you get bonus 10c or 15c per litre savings due to promotions tho

Thanks man. This one might be a keeper for a few years or even 10. Something lovable about a manual soarer. R154 gear box is sexy too. When this engine's gone, I'll drop in a later vvti single turbo, tune it up a bit and done. If I do sell it, I'm taking the wheels off, just bought them a few days ago for 3.1k. Haha.

Found out theres a little crack at the bottom of the chassis, nothing a bit of welding can't fix.

Today I saw a lady hit a car while attempting to park and she pretended it didn't happen so I had no other choice to tell the stupid idiot that you can't just do that.

There were plenty of car parks if you can't get in one go to another [Rage]

So... I ran a revs check on the falcon i was buying... All clear. I go back to see the guy and discuss payment.

He will not sign anything, wont sign rego transferal or let me drive it away.

So i flipped him the bird, said **** off, turned around and walked away.

So i have no car for a while. I've just hit the two year mark on my L's and im no closer to getting my P's. My brother in law gets his new old car soon and he will let me drive that to try and get my P's before i have to start again.

So im going to keep saving and buy a good manual car with under 200,000Klms on it when i come across one i like. Thinking i will just go with something like a VT commo and S-Charge it when on opens. (i like the look of the VT with monaro lights)

Its actually really common. I think most are designed to let go of the hose now to prevent that kind of damage so it must be pretty common.

I imagine its leads common on the types that you have to keep holding down the trigger to get the fuel it though.

maybe its a LPG pump where u have to secure it to the car so it doesnt come off. that could be why it stayed on when he drove away... thats the only explanation as if it was petrol u would have to put the cap back on thus reminding u to remove the hose

I just went for a quick drive down the south Gippy high way and the road was busy as. I guess it's all the traffic coming from the Moto GP. From Cranbourne to Dandenong there's bogans lined up on the side of the road waving the Aussie flag, also cops with radar guns EVERYWHERE!
