Title as suggested ^_^ and holy crap I can't believe that we are already onto our 3rd thread, that's over 200 pages of car talk. We need cars.mmgn [Shifty]

The falcon has been in a fairly decant accident... The front is bent up, i had to use washer for the headlights to sit flush, and then when i checked them out they were pointing strait without having to adjust them. Also the panels and bonnet dont sit flush, even after adjusting them. The diff has been moved as well, beaurepairs found that out while doing the wheel alignment. And there are flat spots on my front rims, i only hit the ditch with the passenger side wheel.

Also the front bushes are on the way out so i have to replace them some time. The front suspension is all soft and loose and the back is hard as because of the tonne suspension. So thinking of getting hard bushes to stiffen it up.

They are probably the reason the steering is so loose.

When i got it up to 100k on the highway, it started to move on its own and i had to counter steer to keep it strait. Its fine back at 80k but over that it gets pretty horrid, and actually feels scary to drive.
@Ren-dog I hope you didn't pay much for it because it sounds like your always having to fix something on it.

ESCORTS FTW! Paid $750 for it, have probably dumped ALOT more into it than that but when something breaks on it its a 10 minute job to fix it yourself, and their pretty bullet proof, can pick up a decent one for like $3k. classier than anything else on the road too :P

i dont like all these new cars with the custom dash that you cant easily put in an aftermarket headunit... some you can get a fascia but even then it doesnt look very good...

i like the old vs statesman/caprice or something would be cool

I'm pretty sick of them aswell, you cant just swap things out any more. Dont forget to think about fuel costs with prices going up [Shifty]

I have come to the realization (aka i found heaps of things wrong with the falcon) that i will need a car that isnt a bottomless pit.
Need to replace all my front bushes, thats gonna be a nice expensive job. Not happy -_-
So im gonna start saving for an open license car thats around $10-15k so it isnt as much of a bottomless pit.

Hard for me to make a sensible response here because I have such a soft spot for that shape Commodore. I have always wanted to get a VS GTS or Clubsport and was going to buy one but my misses wouldn't let me. I think the VR/VS has a really good body shape and was the last Commodore to have a proper roof unlike the later models that have those dam black rubber strips on them.

You have the V6 right? unlike the the Ford six cylinder cars of that era there's a lot of after market support with stuff like stroker kits to twin turbo kits. Spend a few grand and you can build a nice V8 killer.
The only thing you have to really consider is any money you throw at a base model car will be gone forever. You wont get any of that back if and when you go to sell it.
I spent a bit of money on my old VS but I did most of the work myself and had a s*** load of fun doing it. I used to have the car in bits after work and be rushing to put it back together before the morning.

Your call though dude, personally if I was in your position and save the cash and get a HSV of that shape and work on that. At least that way you have an old car with a heap of good bits already on it and you can get a few bucks back from it when you sell it later on.
For some reason the VS-VR utes are around $10,000. Doesn't make sense to me.
@guyver YES i agree it is the best shape commodore!! the VE is very nice aswell though cos of all the modern bits and power increases and so on.

yeah an HSV of that era would be nice or even a caprice or statesman. [MOG]

@ren-dog there are plenty for 7-8k and start at around 3-4k

Preludes aren't quick unless you throw some decent money at them. I had a 98 model 2.2 VTEC and that only moved if you revved the absolute guts out of them. Decent car though.

That new Pagani is ****ing amazing. I don't like the looks but the more you read about it the more amazing it seems. So much detail has gone into it, reading about how hes designed EVERYTHING to work together in perfect synergy is just a beautiful combination of form and function. A proper, proper designer that guy.

I do think the previous Zonda looked better but this one is engineered to perfection.

I was thinking about what people were saying before about modding the buick V6 in commodores. What kind of money can one spend on that, considering GM V8 crate engines are like 5k?

haha and then stroke it out and full exhaust with a cam, bigger injectors stage 2 shift kit the thing would be a monster
