How to decide which games to play?

Okay so this is open across all channels, because I know a lot of you have more than one console etc.

I've bought a bunch of new games during the Steam Sales and GOG.COM's Christmas sale, and I even gota few games for Christmas so my already huge backlog is even larger now!

So how do you all decide what games you are going to play. I don't like to be playing 10 games at once, because I want to soak in all the story and experiences. As a result, I have a never ending backlog of games I've never played, or finished sitting across my consoles.

Right now I'm playing Skyward Sword, Terraria and Costume Quest. Not that I'm complaining, but working from MMGN means I usually have to drop the games I'm playing for "myself", and have to work on games I need to review.

So how do you all decide what to play and when?

The most i would juggle at once would be 3 max and i would play what i feel like playing :D

If I want to play for a few hours then I start playing some RPGs and FPS, if I want to play for a small amount of time like a few minutes to an 30 mins then i'll play a platformer or fighter.

I don't usually play to finish a game after starting but I usually play up to 5 games at once and finishing them off when I feel like it.

Man I'm in the same boat, got a crap load of games on PC and console that I haven't either played at all or have barely touched.
I have no system of which games I decide on playing first. If I suddenly feel like playing an action game I'll probably play Zelda, if I feel like a fighting game I'll trow on MK and so on. Also if plenty of people are discussing a game I have that I haven't played I'll probably end up playing that game first so I can get involved with the discussion a little more. Not much of a system I know :P

This happens to be with all my Steam games. I've hardly played any of them, and have too many now to know where to start. [MOG]

This happens FAR too often to me. I want to play a game but I lack the motivation to actually decide WHICH game to play haha!

True but its a hell lot easier than actually putting in hours and hours just to find out what people have been talking about.

It sounds weird but I play games based in the food/drinks I consume :/ snacks like chips and dip maybe I'll play FIFA and/or need fr speed. After dinner/breakfast I like a little adventure to get the heart racing!. Or if I'm starving and there's no food in the house I play my classic RPGs so my character distracts me for hours on end. But before bed I like a nice shooter. Helps me sleep ;)

Make categories for them: Owned Games/Completed Games/WIP Games/Meh.

That helps me get through the pile.
