What should I do?

a mate just got it last weekend. he rang the xbox support desk and they emailed him a reply post label to attach.

remove your HDD and faceplate secure it in bubble wrap, put it in a box that is NOT the original box, making sure you recorded your serial number first, the attach the label they send you and drop it off at the post office.

my mate hasn't got his back yet so i don't know how long it will take, but when it gets back, the first thing you do is check the serial number, then playtest the console.

absolute first step though, is ring xbox support.

checking the serial number is a waste of time, its stuck to the outer case and not the chassis, they replaced the entire insides of mine but kept the outer case with original serial number. The faster u get it back the bigger the chances are that you've scored a brand new 360....inside.

i have heard of instances where people actually get back a repaired console that was sent in previously for this problem.

i know of two people who actually somehow swapped consoles via the xbox repair factory.
