Need advise on a situation... Eb games

3187 Views 66 Posts Xbox Software
Ok... So i bought heavy rain on PS3 and got back to work and opened the plastic and opened the case and no game is inside.... Do i take it back and say "WTF???"

Never had this happen and dont wanna look like some nutjob who buys games and steals the disc (Im a paranoid nut job but thats besides the point)
lulz my EB Games store rocks my socks. Always sealed, price match to whatever, it's very cool =]

And yeah, return it.
So I took it back and picked it up from GAME-lucky I did, because when I opened it up, there was a slip for DLC that wasn't in the EB one. And it's all brand-spanking new :)
But GAME couldn't price match their website, so I had to pay $38 instead of $34...I wonder why they can't do it???

Yeah, they are like that sometimes. It really depends on who you get in the store.

I've had people do it and not... :S
GAME has separate online prices to their instore prices. I was about to mention. That GAME is giving away the dlc, but as I read the thread I saw you mentioned it. The crummy thing about EB is that there aren't too many games that remain sealed. Also, one other thing to mention, if you take a game from the shelf to the counter, they will check to see if there's a seed copy pretty much all the time. EB need to get rid of all the stock from their back rooms asap to reduce live stock. If anyone has any other questions about EB, I am more than happy to answer them.

Many retailers don't price match their own websites simply because the overheads for the website are lower than a bricks and mortar store.

That said, GAME do it more than anyone. It's always worth the question at GAME, as a lot of managers will do it.
Simple solution to the OP's problem. Don't shop at EB. :P
The only EB I liked shopping at was the one my friend worked at.

He gave me heaps of free stuff. *_*

Get to know the peeps working behind the counter at GAME and you will be treated well.
Get to know the peeps working behind the counter anywhere and you will be treated well ;)

It's even better if they are the manager or something [Derp]

You guys love to hang shit on EB don't you?
If you know HOW to shop there properly then it's easy.

If the game is expensive, always is, just ask for them to call up JB and price match.
If you think your game isn't brand new ask for another copy, sometimes if it's close to the release they will give you a sealed one.

Put up with these minor faults and you have the option to return the game after a week, two weeks if it's preowned.
Now THAT is worth shopping there.

Most games these days aren't very long at all.
Just EB Rent em...

Many stores don't price match unless the other shop is within a decent radius. Many people don't have the luxury of having 50 stores around them to price match.

Very simple indeed, sometimes they will have no "shrink wrapped" copies for sale though and it's either buy it, or get out.

Some people may want to keep these games for replay value alone or don't have the time to flog the game in a week or two. Mind you, "Eb renting" too much can get you black listed from the shop.

Why do you think they re-sell games then...?
I can't wait till jb hi fi comes down where I live.. I like eb.. it's ok but I'd rather a jb if I had a choice.. :S
You guys complain too much :S

I don't mind, as long as it's in decent condition and doesn't skip. I've never returned a game. I was just pointing out to shiv that it happens, mainly because people like him "EB rent".

And that he is stubborn and obnoxious. :P
