So I just watched a video by machinima on YouTube listing their top 10 most difficult games.

In short, their top 10 (from 10-1) were:

• Final Fantasy 3
• Super Ghouls and Ghosts
• Super Monkey Ball
• Megaman 9
• Demon Souls
• Ninja Gaiden
• Contra
• Battletoads
• I wanna be the guy
• Devil May Cry 3

As for difficult games ...hmm. I guess back in the day I really had to go all out to finish everything in Perfect Dark. Campaign on Perfect Agent was a fair challenge for a few levels like WAR! and Maian SOS. A couple of the cheats were pretty tough to unlock, and the last few multiplayer challenges were also tough when you were up against Perfect Sims and Dark Sims. Playingit again on 360 it doesn't seem as hard as it was back then. I was only just getting into gaming then so that played a big part :P

Does anyone else find hard games immensely satisfying? I hate how limp dicked most games are now. Hardly any of the big games are even challenging. Look at COD; it's hard but for all the wrong reasons, and too many of them not involving skill. So many parts of COD4 to BLOPS are practically luck because you're up against an immense wall of endlessly respawning enemies who sometimes instapwn you and sometimes let you rush straight in. That's not what you'd call good difficulty scaling, and rushing to save points is just lame...

Fallout New Vegas again was pissweak. Has a hardcore mode that's nowhere near hard enough and as with every Bethesda game, is nothing without mods to fix that kind of crap.

COD ect... it's simply run in and shot the bad guys, die a few times but usually you can grind and win.

Demon souls I found if you tired that the first monster in the first level would pwn you every time.

Fallout/dragon age mods ftw ;D love em.

Apart from that the only other challenging game in my collection would be castlevania and it's purely because I get lost on a few levels ;/ or come up to a big titan and run for the hills lol ;D.

Hmmm, funny....i found DJ hero on professional/ expert much much harder than Demon Souls....Burnout Paradise is another one thats hard, didn't know what to do in the game just kept driving around....

games back then were always hard

Tomb Raider III - PlayStation 1 [Rage]

That game was impossible to complete without cheating!!! [Rage] limited saves and when you die (which was nearly always) you had to go back to pretty much the beginning of the level!!! [Rage]

I have both versions of Meat Boy, and the controller is by far the superior option. The keyboard does work fine, but I'd rather settle for better than fine
