Yeah just steer clear from split-screen when getting achievements, that seems to be the common factor. It's still not working for me so I can only hope 4J fix it somehow. It kind of has deflated my goal to 400/400 this. I hate how achievements have made me so obsessive about completing all my games for virtual score. :P

I've got a couple of questions that I'm confused.
1. I've made a small lake so I can fill a bucket from, rather than traversing to the ocean. Whenever I have the bucket active, I don't get the 'fill' showing up. Why not?
2. I'm trying to make a table made of a fence post and a trapdoor, but no blocks smaller than a standard block goes on. Why?

2. You can't put blocks on top of fences in this current version of MC. Mind you, an update is coming out soon that will bring the 360 version of MC up to 1.7.3 which will allow that.

The only way to put a trap door on top of a fence post is to have a block next to the top of the fence post and place the trap door on the side of that block. Once you get rid of the block, the trap door will pop off too. So best off having your tables up against a wall.

When you're next to water, the LT button indicator shows up showing 'fill' or 'empty'.
Whenever I'm at the lake, the LT button indicator doesn't show up. When I'm next to or in the ocean, the LT button show up.

Hmm, the only thing that I can think is that you are trying to fill the bucket from a flowing source of water, which doesn't work.

Sometimes when you take water from a source block (a block that isn't flowing), that block of water will then start flowing. It all depends on how many source blocks you have in either direction.

For future reference, you can actually make an infinite water spring out of 2 buckets of water and a 2x2 hole in the ground.

I worked out how to fill an area with water w/o having any currents in it. Now I'm trying to piece together a fridge and having no end of trouble putting it together.
I have one dispenser, one iron block, one iron door, and one button.
I place the dispenser on the ground, but when I try to put the iron block on top I just cannot, as the LT button always show 'open'. I even cannot place the iron door in front as the LT button also always show 'open'. The iron door only can be placed on top of the iron block - not in front of it either, from what I encountered. The button cannot go on the door, or the iron block either.
Is this another 'fault' of the 1.6.6 version, and need to wait for the 1.7.3 update next month? If not, then how can I piece it together with the above items, as it's driving me nuts?

To place another block on top of the dispenser, put two blocks behind and then aim at that to place the iron block. For the door, you'll need to stand in the space where the fridge will go and aim at the spot that will be in front of it. I'm assuming this will all work, since it does on PC. Then again, I might be completely wrong, since I still haven't managed to purchase the 360 version :(

No, you are right about that, whaling. Its tedious, but the only way you can place blocks on top of dispensers and whatnot.

Thanks whaling. I found another way to make the fridge through much trial-n-error. I first put the iron block one block above where the dispenser will go. I then put the dispenser on the ground. This gets rid of the annoying LT button coming up with 'use' all the time.
With the iron door, I faced it right-angle, and I put the button on the block next to the 'fridge'. Once the button is attached to the wall, the door closes, and then by pressing the button, the door flips open.
Annoying as hell to do, which on the PC looks much easier. The best part is that you can place the fridge anywhere. Not only at corners.

Yes it is. I was about to give up completely, and just settle for any old block(s) to make the fridge, but that wouldn't look OK.

Had a look at the new update for MC. It's looking good!

The new lighting is so much better and the addition of pistons couldn't come sooner (I'm building a contraption).

So I got this the other week (never played MC before) and spent a good 30 or so hours exploring, building up a bangin crib in the side of a cliff etc, doing lots of mining and just learning about stuff. But now I've hit a brick wall.... The exploring fun has kinda worn off, I've got a nice little cave... so I don't know what else to do. I feel kinda stupid asking this, but ah.. what's the point of this game? [MOG]

I'm aware of the redstone devices etc you can set up, but I'm not really interested in investing more time into this game until I know what you're actually meant to aim to accomplish :S

That is the exact same reason most people put this down after a while. Lack of direction or inspiration.

Minecraft is a creative/sandbox game masquerading as about a dozen others which makes it hard too focus on the creative side.

So, set yourself a long-term goal. Whatever it may be: Build a giant structure/ build + manage a farm or mine or village/ play in hardcore and try and survive as long as possible. Whatever it is, it has to be your mindset while you play, otherwise you find yourself where you are now; Disenchanted with the game.

Agree with that. I'm basically doing a contemporary setting with shops/cafes/etc. in a worldly fashion - in other words, have signs posted in Italian, Spanish, German, French, etc.

Whoever is interested. I just wrote an iPhone app that lets you find players to play with in Minecraft on the 360. Seems to be something everyone is battling with. If you interested check here on the app store itunes.apple.com/...

I might do an Android version if there is demand, but am just a one man operation at the moment :)

Also looking for feedback and ideas.
