Minecraft for Xbox 360

Featured 7119 Views 141 Posts Xbox Software
Revealed at E3; Minecraft will come to Xbox 360 exclusively for its console debut with Kinect support.

Who thinks this can or can't be successful? Why?
No love for the console version? :'(

I'm hoping we start to see more details of what exactly is going to be in the console and even the Xperia version of this.

I won't knock it until they add Herobrine. (evil)
Some images from Minecon of Mincraft for 360. Still a work in progress.

looks pretty good.. my son wants this so bad for his Xbox.. [Derp]
Just why cannot Minecraft work on consoles? It works via the iPad. Couldn't a keyboard and mouse be put in the USB slot on the x360 / PS3 and you play it with that? If that can the case, then the makers of Minecraft wouldn't have much trouble doing a console port.
Cannot see why the RAM on the x360 is an issue, otherwise every 'new' game won't run from it.

Looking great though. I love the look of the controller.
Anyone want to be enthused and creeped out about the release of MC on the 360 at the same time?

Just watch this:

Their accents make it unbearably funny to watch =D. "Holy gosh!"
god thats a bad hat
inorite? No one will say it to the boss' face. :P
LOL that was funny.

This is probably the only time I'll get into Minecraft so I'm certainly looking forward to it on XBLA.
Is this out because if it is I AM GETTING IT (love)

I think taking it to the iPhone was pushing it, especially control wise. Though I suppose the xbox does have a greater number of 'buttons'.

It'll feel weird playing it on the xbox, for those who've also played it on their computers. It might be alright if the first time you'd experienced the game was with the xbox version.

(Also, that video is hilarious).
Having had Minecraft since alpha sometime early 2010, I don't think I can justify this... plus I've got stuff built in a friend's server that I definitely wouldn't be able to transfer over. The Android version I was very tempted by though, but it still comes down to the fact that I'm paying for the game twice. Also when you bought it in alpha, you were told you were entitled to all future versions of the game for no extra charge. I wonder if that applies to other platforms...
The main reason we plan on buying this is so we can stop our 3 y/o son from usurping our PC's all the time.

Playing with the 360 controller should be fine with me since I've been using xpadder to play this on the PC for the most part. Only really used the keyboard and mouse for fast building.

wait.. so you think you should get a free copy on the xbox cause you had alpha?>.... keep dreaming :P
Finally some more details: www.hookshotinc.com/...

The big revelation was the new multiplayer mode. Minecraft on XBLA will support four-player splitscreen as well as eight-player online modes. These can also be interchanged, so you could notionally have two four-person households of Minecraft fanatics crafting a world together...

*_*
itll be like 1200 micro points so like $15 its on xbox arcade no an actual game itll be successful in my opinion. As my xbox is alot easier to take to a friends house than a compute. :P plus playing online with a group of friends would be mad.
You don't even need to play online, there is 4 player split-screen.

Get the Adobe Flash Player to see this video.
It's great how you can go online with the people you are playing split-screen with too.
Name has been decided ("Minecraft: XBOX 360 Edition") and a release date is to be announced tomorrow!: www.minecraftforum.net/...
This person on YouTube has a couple of videos showing the game.

There is a Tutorial mode to get the new comers started which explains a lot of things in game.

He also tests out the 4-player split screen.

Minecraft will be available on XBLA on May 9th, 2012. It will cost 1,600 points

Great, thanks for those videos. I'll probably play this more on 360 than I did on my Mac, which runs like a bitch as soon as I start the game up.
1600? A litte steep but I'll probably get it anyway
