Mass Effect Marathon

I'm not sure how many other people are in the same boat as me or something similar. Basically I started my Mass Effect experience with part 2 and I've only recently purchased part 1 which I'm still meaning to play though. So for me the game still feels like there's holes in it, maybe others that have played all 3 games might not be happy with one of the game saves they have imported.

So with the latest game finished and many people not that happy with the ending is anyone else keen on playing though the entire series again from start to finish to attempt to get perfect endings, have all dialog options open, see more cut scenes etc?

When I get the chance I want to get though the first game, play though the second with a ME1 imported file then tackle part 3 with the DLC (I bought the DLC towards the end of the game so apparently I missed a lot of dialog with the Prothian).
Why would I talk to Kaiden when I have Garrus and Wrex to keep me company [monkey]

Tell me what distinguishes Ashley from all the other video game heroines out there....absolutely nothing except she's the only human love interest in amongst the aliens. Highly trained warrior in amongst a male dominating army, blahblablah.

If you like that sort of character, Sarah Kerrigan from Starcraft is totally badass.

You may as well ask what distinguishes Garrus from all the other vigilante heroes out there, aside from being an alien. Garrus is basically just Dirty Harry with a different look.
Speaking of Garrus, tell me what's so good about him NAO
He's your bro. No one looks out for Shepard more than him.
Yup, he's super awesomeu. Even Shepard talks to him differently compared to how he talks to everyone else. You can feeeeeeel the friendship.
I meant in combat. I'm still figuring out how to use him.
He's basically fire support. He can use a sniper rifle or an assault rifle, and he has skills like Concussive Shot. My personal tactic throughout the game was the old Four-Fs; take two squad members who could put down a solid base of fire, use them to fix the enemy in place behind cover, and either direct them to the flank, or flank them myself.

In terms of equipment, each game has its specialty. In ME1 you equip everyone with Phasic or Photon ammo, which passes through shields and directly damages health. In ME2 you only really have ammo powers to rely on. And in ME3, you have the wonderful Armor Piercing weapon mods. Stick one on your weapons and your squadmates' weapons and it can penetrate a certain amount of cover, with additional depth if you also use the AP ammo power. It also seems that your squadmates' AI is good enough to be able to know when it can fire through cover, since I have seen my squaddies firing through thin walls in the past. Fire through the cover to flush out the enemy, where they can be targetted by your squaddies with small-arms fire (directing their fire manually does extra damage) or biotic/tech powers.
Cool thanks. I took Wrex and Ashley on one of the main planet missions and realised I made a big mistake because I couldn't decrypt any of the lockers to get some goods @_@

Not the end of the world getting stuck like that. I missed a lot of locked stuff and random tech and still managed to get through the game easy enough on default difficulty.

I think I have a few more good online games to go and I'll have 100 percent galactic readiness. Got all the side missions done, all planets explored (well that I could find) and right now I have the Normandy parked out the front of the Illusive man's base ready to rock. The other day I was going just finish off the game but stopped myself I want to see what 100 percent Galactic readiness does.

Once I've done all that my marathon will be really complete, actually could have finished it ages ago if I could get some decent online games but some many lag out and fail for me.
After that I might play though ME3 again with this main trilogy file I've been working on imported. Should give me more paragon and renegade points to work with. Also I wouldn't mind shooting Ashley again.

Yeah once I started exploring random planets and got some good gear I'm ready to rumble too. There's actually not that many solar systems, is it just what you see on the star map at the start? I'm doing all the side quests too.

I think (might be confusing it with the later games) more parts of the galaxy map open up as you progress.

Oh yeah when you explore planets if you see any minerals to mine it's worth getting because everything you collect gets transferred over to ME2.
Finally completed the marathon as I wanted to. Probably could have done it a few weeks ago but I wanted to try and get 100 percent galactic readiness...which turned out to be pointless [Rage] Also seeing that ending again was disappointing but the journey to the ending was the part I enjoyed and that's what matters I guess.
Well the marathon is done so I'm happy I got that done since I have never done anything like this before, quite a lot of hours of gaming for me.
Overall playing part 2 was the best part for me. ME1 was more of a story filler for me because originally I started the series at part 2 so there was a bunch of things I didn't understand, also made part 2 more interesting since Wrex was someone you knew this time.
When playing ME2 I decided to not destroy the Collector's base this time just to see what the difference is. Everyone made a big deal about it but in the end I got big arse super computer for the alliance. Honestly I expected more from Cerberus...
What will you do now that you have finished the marathon Guyver :P

Thanks to you guys, I've found the greatness that is Garrus! Now my team is Garrus (to snipe), Tali (so I can break into safes) and myself of course. I have a bad feeling why most people chose to save Tali in the end, it has something to do with the pilgrimage right? No don't tell me!

@Guyver - Yeah I've experienced more solar systems opening up and stuff, I think I'm nearly done with the side quests.
Surprisingly after all that i'm not bored of the series yet i'm thinking about importing this finished game save and playing through ME3 again doing a couple of things differently, like heading back to the citadel more often.
Wow you sure are dedicated. The boy was actually halfway through ME3 when he decided he needed to play his ME2 differently and went back and restarted both games until he reached a satisfactory ending.

Just reached Nouveria, how fun it was to do something different for a change and explore a different place. I find with all the sidequests all the bunkers and everything start to look the same after a while.
Finished ME3 again and went with the Synthases ending this time...yay nice and green [Shifty]

Anyway I think I'm done with this series for a while now, there's not much else to explore, done all the side missions, most of the DLC, finished the ME3 with an imported file from ME1 and ME2, finished Me3 with a full green bar and a 100 percent galactic readiness from online time, played though ME2 and Me3 without letting anyone get killed apart from the scripted parts like Thane and Mordin, I even found all the collectible model ships :*O
Finally finished Mass Effect 1, man that was freakin' epic! Also the scene with that blue alien chick was funny. I did every single side quest except for one on Fenros, once I left the place I couldn't get back to it. Might give it a rest before I delve into 2 :D

Nope, straight into 2.
Getting this bad idea to run through the marathon again but on a harder difficulty level.... Is there any way to save Kaiden and Ashly in Mass Effect 1?
No. One has to die.

Desi said: No. One has to die.

I regret saving Ashly then she's annoying as Hell.
Keep saying it Guyver, you're just making me angrier [Shifty]

She's racist and always gives me attitude about my various flings with my alien crew Mass Effect Marathon
I like Ashley. [Derp]
