Does anybody else have this game on their backburners with the release of some other massive titles around the same time? I mean, in the space of a month I'll be getting multiple xbox games.
Crysis 1
Battlefield 3
Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary
Metal Gear Solid HD
Skyrim (Possibly later, as it's a massive game i'd want to finish others before I start this)
Forza 4
Resident Evil 4 HD
GoldenEye 007: Reloaded
Rage

As well as Modern Warfare 3. Now I most likely won't end up getting all of those, but if I include MW3 as a definate, then there will still be BF3, Halo HD, Crysis 1, Goldeneye and Skyrim.
6 games minimum in the space of a month. Shite.

I've already spaced out what I'm getting since the mid-year. Originally, I was gonna get BF3 on release week but I ended up wanting it for Christmas to place in solid hours for both Resistance 3 and Gears 3.

November and half of December will be nothing but MW3.

I do. As much as I like COD, and the idea of playing it in the big cities excites me, but it's still probably sitting 4th or 5th for the next month or two's releases.

Yeah I think that it's the same case with more people than in the past few years. CoD really needs a new engine and gameplay mechanics. It's been the same since CoD2, just now with the ability to sprint.

That's not the point. The point is that it's a multi billion dollar series. They need to set the tone for the industry to follow.

@gdmatt but they do? :P How many games have tried to copy the COD formula?

I think that if the community is still strong and still playing the game 12 months after release, the engine doesn't need to change.

People don't cry when Halo's engine or experience doesn't change. If the game's fun, it really only needs a fresh coat of paint, which is really exactly what we get with COD.
