Well, I've played through the first 4 chapters and I have to say that the storyline is far, far more interesting than the snooze-fest that was MW2. - It's an interesting reversal, in that I was not at all interested in the story of BF:BC 1 but I did like the plot of Modern Warfare.
MW2 felt like Infinity Ward just tried too hard.

I like the graphics, too; BF:BC 2 looks very much like FarCry 2. It's not on par with Uncharted 2 but it's pretty damned good.

I've had a brief hack at the multi. I like it, I'll play it a lot...but I wish there was just a simple, straight-up Team Deathmatch option.

Thanks Skarteh, I think you just helped me make my mind up. I've only played one map on BC2 on the demo, but it was definitely a lot smaller than the demo map I played on 1943. The 1943 one was a horse-shoe shaped island, so pretty much a proper battlefield.

I love the smaller "Battlefields" in BC2 though, never get any lag or drop-outs like I do in bigger games.

My ping in BF2 is about 20, my ping in BC2 is about 120. BF2 has maps at least 4 times larger than BC2 (64 player and don't feel as cramped as BC2 with 32). So I doubt the size is the ping problem...

I'm still waiting for them to fix the lag in BC2, it drives me nuts.

Sounds like Wake Island. If thats as big as the BF2 version then its certainly bigger than anything in BC2 :)

We haven't got 1943 either man :P you mean the 1942 ones?

I'm just trying to figure out if this 1943 is a genuine BF game. I know the "Bad Company" series was supposed to be separate so I'm hoping 1943 will be a proper Battlefield :D with

Check this video out for what BC2 is missing:

You can get an idea of the map scale compared to BC2. Those jets would get from one end of Valdez to the other in like 2 seconds :P I really miss the maps being that big. It felt so much more like a Battlefield. BC2 feels to COD like... The vehicles and stuff are so much more awesome I can only imagine how sweet it would be on that scale!

I meant, do 1943 and '42 share the same maps. But I just googled it and found out.

The mid-air vehicle swapping is beyond brutal!

Battlefield 2 is one of the best war-time shooters I've played. Ever. It also had an awesome mod for it called Australian Forces. I recommend, but doubt there are many people playing that still.

Yeah, BC2 is awesome but there are a lot of things it doesn't do well enough to replace BF2. I cannot wait for BF3 :|

The Commander is awesome, the pings are awesome, the UAV is awesome, supply/vehicle drops...

I sort of rather the new class system though. BF2 had too many. And yeah the vehicles controller better and allowed you to do more stuff like chopper barrel rolls. I'd love to see the BC2 vehicles that free.

I'm wondering if BC2 is even modifiable...

Gah I hate people who can't drive vehicles for shit. I was just casually driving from base to base in my tank and then a tank on my own team comes up behind me and flips my tank over and then he drove into a wall with my tank was stuck behind him. He couldn't move, so I pulled out my RPG and destroyed him and his tank. Bastard won't do that again.

Yeah im the same people who cant fly or drive should keep the feet on the soil.

Sure should. I can't fly a helicopter, so I never get in one. I'd much rather leave it for someone that actually can fly it and use it to some effect.

You can't do it on console, but you can do the quick-scoping on PC... which is what this guy did.
