Am I Banned from Live?

I am going to cry if I am..

My bro msg'd me and said "Xbox live banned call asap".

After freaking out I called him and he said that when he tried to connect it said gamertag was invalid or something.

Now I know what your thinking, and no my console isn't modded at all and all my games are legit.

I was even playing Gears of War 2 with a mate yesterday at 4am and I was fine.

No smacktalking, no cheap tactics, cheating etc.

I haven't actually tried to connect again yet as my bro's mates are all playing COD but I was wondering if anyone knew anything about this?

I can't seem to find anything on google either. Am I... banned?

I really really don't want to lose everything I have put into that gamertag..

If you haven't done anything wrong then you have nothing to worry about. try connecting again and Google EXACTLY what the message says. If anything, if you were mistakenly banned you can always bring it up with Microsoft and let them cop it.

Your GT doesn't get banned, your console does. I assume your brother hasn't recovered the gamertag to the other xbox, I get that error if the GT is saved to the console but not recovered.

Yeah sorry, I know I haven't provided a lot of info but that's because I can't really check it atm. It's just really worrying me.

Yeah seeing as I haven't done anything wrong (if you believe me), would I be right to call Microsoft and argue with them as to why it has been banned?

Could I get a straight answer out of them besides the violation of policy thing?

If your GT was banned- It could of been heaps and heaps of file complaints OR offensive gamertag/motto.

If your console was banned- Backups/Piracy (WHICH DOES NOT APPLY TO YOU)

You sure you never used hacks or backups at all?

Never ever used hacks, but yeah my profile was used on modded console at times. But that was AGES ago.

Also, my gamertag is my surname, so shouldn't be a problem.

Yeah Dique (deek) was my tag.

Out of a totally random and misclicking of the button 'Check Availability' my new gamertag is ExpressCoffee

I pressed Check Availability and it selected it for me! haha

Oh well, it's ok I guess.
