Might be worth trying to flog your old 360s on ebay, trading it in wont get you much when the slim comes out. I bet many people will want to be doing this.

To answer a few questions, may have already been done but can't be bothered reading all the posts.

New 360 has a Kinect port, older models will utilise an adaptor to hook it up.

The only change to the current black controller is a more metallic xbox button in the centre of the controller.

The only thing I am unsure of is how data is transfered from the old xbox HDD to the new one, I cant see how the data transer kit wouold work.

I want one of these but will wait for a new Kinect bundle.

you can already just stick your own harddrive in if you get someone to make up the case?
if you have an xbox and need wifi you already have the attachment obviously?
yeah I guess the noise is a bit annoying.. my gf is always complaining about this, "is this microsoft's first time to make a console?" she says..
either way if you trade your current working console you will still be out of pocket.. =_= cannot understand this fanatical logic!
I did not hear of anyone doing this for the black wii or ps3 slim..
