What a.... Unique logo choice

With around 2 weeks to go until the opening ceremony of the Summer Olympics will dominate international TV's for two weeks (July 27th - August 12th)

With thousands and thousands of people flocking to London to catch the Olympics, It's going to get busy, But for those of us who are back home, It's going to be another exciting event.

So who's going to be catching some / any of the events? I might get a few depends what's being televised on the day. Cheering Australia on for GOLD ;)

How bullshit is it that they sent Libby Trickett over there to swim the heat? Not good enough to make the final team, but she's an Olympian to swim a relay heat. Why don't the final team swim the heat? What a joke. Wonder how much of our taxpayer money they spent on that.

Fair enough she gets one. But was she really needed? She's basically there to give the better swimmers a rest. Could go even further as well, why do they even have heats for half of the races? The AOC goes on about the A-qualifier (which half of our athletes don't even get), yet in some events half of the field in the heats is beaten pool lengths?

Possible. Though they did donate 100k to a Russian pole vaulter that ended up deciding to compete for Russia, so how much would they donate to a golden has-been?

Wow some serious disappointment in the swimming overnight, this Olympics has been a major letdown for Australia so far.

James 'missile' Magnussen was as big a flop as Eamon Sullivan was last Olympics, after all the hype he pretty much cost us a podium finish.

Maybe the dominance we had in the pool is a thing of the past? looks that way.

That's the fault of the Australian media, stating that we're a shoe-in for gold medals whenever he's swimming. Being a world-champ doesn't guarantee any Olympic medals. Maybe he just had a 'bad day'.

He was too over confident we can't blame the media for the words that come out of his mouth, he said he won't be beaten after the world championships & said similar after they did well in the heats.

Gone are the days when the athletes backed up their talk, I hope he does better in the individual events but that was a massive shock to not even get a podium finish.

At this rate it looks like we'll be relying on the women to get all the results again, I hope Leisel Jones sticks it up the haters.

Sprenger did alright but I was really disappointed with 'the weapons of mass implosion'

Saw the comments made from the heats in the videos. I think Magnussen should quit 'talking the talk' and concentrate on 'swimming the swim'.
