What a.... Unique logo choice

With around 2 weeks to go until the opening ceremony of the Summer Olympics will dominate international TV's for two weeks (July 27th - August 12th)

With thousands and thousands of people flocking to London to catch the Olympics, It's going to get busy, But for those of us who are back home, It's going to be another exciting event.

So who's going to be catching some / any of the events? I might get a few depends what's being televised on the day. Cheering Australia on for GOLD ;)

I only saw the semis but from what I read the final was only one run, not based on three like previous rounds.

If this is true than what is the point of having anybody qualify for so long when it comes down to one race where anybody could win and one guy stacking his bike could ruin everybodys chances and than you have to wait 4 years for another shot.

So? The sailing has a "final" race, too. But it's the accumulative points of the previous rounds that count.

All I meant is that they have all these races to get there yet one split second mistake from an opponent can ruin your whole Olympics because the final is only one race, it should have been three more again.

I know right? The Quarters and the semis are three races. One person in the front has to fall full out on the track, and the race is spoiled for everyone else. You also need to be quite lucky to run over the finish line in front of everyone else.

The dutch riders were doing very well in the semis, but ended 4th and 5th in the final :'@

How about the wrestling? If scores are tied at the end of the round, Red picks a ball out of a hat. The colour of the ball shows who gets to start the tiebreaker with their arms around their opponent's leg. Pretty much insta-loss there if your colour doesn't get pulled out of the hat.

The Aussie female sailors in the Elliott 6m Class got a silver medal. Congrats.
@kangle4 See what you mean with the BMX. The cycling pursuit has a final of 'best of three', so why not BMX?

@BMX, would be better if in the final they remove the last person each time, do 7 races until you have a winner. That would be the fairest.

Who the fudge are they? Would they happen to have sort of relation to the North or South provinces? [Facepalm]

Does channel 9 not know about the separation? Surprised they know where their own bum is.

Is it just me, or are the opening/closing ceremonies just lame as?

They aren't even celebrating the "English culture", just modern famous people...

It seems rather odd to me.
