So the end of the the 26th round wrapped up today, Now we move onto Finals Footy! The exciting time each year where the top 8 teams duke it out for the premiership.

With the Bulldogs securing the Minor Premiership in their 42-10 win against the Roosters it now comes down to who will take out the Premiership.

Top 8 teams, One prize.

Storm vs Bulldogs is likely to happen because they finished in the top 2 but manly and rabbitohs could also steal one of the spots. I find it hard for a team coming 5,6,7 and 8 to make the grand final this year with the new system.

Manly will beat the doggies and storm will beat the bunnies causing both sides to drop off and ultimately lose to the two winners of the other games (Broncos and Sharks) making the prelims Manly v Broncos and Melbourne v Sharks.

LOL parra was a joke. I'm just too much of a loyalist to think anyone else will win.

I don't think the Doggies have the edge in the finals considering their lack of experience, Barba's first finals series, especially when you compare them to the likes of Manly, Melbourne and Brisbane. Doggies will probably win next year, but they wont win this year.

I don't know, The core gameplay doesn't change from normal footy to finals. The only difference is you have to be on top of your game.

Hopefully Barba can still work his magic and get a few amazing plays in.

I'm like you, I'm too much of a Doggies loyalist to think anyone else will win :P

Yea I agree with you, all that changes in the finals is the mindset and determination. The players go through the whole season trying to make the finals so sometimes a lot of teams have run out of willpower by the time September arrives. I feel like this will happen to Canterbury and South Syd. Hence why teams like Manly and Melb are so good in the finals. They have had the same core group the last 5 or so years and the players have all learnt together what it takes to keep going in the finals.

Unlike Parra who just buy a bunch of players and hope they will gel with each other immediately. These things need time!

I don't think Dogs will choke out though, Look at how much Des has made the team better this year. It's been a pretty big improvement and next year, I'd love to see Wayne Bennett back in finals footy. I hope the Knights can get up there. Only because i'm from Newcastle :P

Didn't Parra sack their coach a few weeks ago? Also Isaac Luke should've stayed with the bunnies. Great player.

Perhaps you're right, perhaps I am. But we shall find out this friday night!

Yea we got rid of Kearney towards the end of the season. Another rash decision. Although Ricky Stuart is taking over next year, perhaps the drought shall end soon.

Also I think you mean Chris Sandow. Isaac Luke still plays for the bunnies. Both are great players. If you meant Sandow then wait a year or 2 and he will explode. Future QLD halfback.
