Guess if i was a footballer i'd just do what i do now. Play games more full time or else i would only get in trouble leaving the house lol.

There are a lot of benefits (buying a house outright from less than a year's salary if you're a star, for example), BUT it comes with being in the public spotlight.
If I get arrested for being drunk and high, it's unlikely to make the news and I can probably go to work on Monday morning as if nothing ever happened.
That said, when you enter the AFL draft, you're signing up for that. Being an AFL player means you agree to being under heavy public scrutiny and being a role model of sorts. I hope 17 year olds understand that.

Exactly, these guys no when they get drafted that their mistakes will be magnified so if they can't possibly help themselves and have to give into peer pressure and take drugs than don't nominate for the draft, give the spot to someone who will treat the opportunity with respect.
