Until we finally get a Music MMGN channel, and seeing as though the "What Am I Listening To" thread has gone to hell, I thought it would be good time to create a general music discussion thread.

Unlike the previous thread, this is for general discussion. You are allowed to post what song you're listening to, as long as you post some commentary to incite discussion/debate about the track. In other words, actually DISCUSS music, as opposed to simply posting what you're listening to.

Any off-topic posts will be deleted.

To start things off, who should I see while I'm in Europe? Billy Idol in Prague, Anvil in Amsterdam, D-12 in Amsterdam, or Green Day in Prague?

I got the MOS Annual 2011 from JB Hi-Fi and it's terrible...again. That dirty, gen-y infected electronic house that goes around now is just a mutation of a once superb genre. Thank god it's only Australia that embraces it so aggressively. The Aussie version of the Annual has only been great once (2007) since the first few Annuals in the mid-90s (the Boy George 95 Annual is one of the most amazing CDs I own (especially if you love the genre). That was house techno music at its absolute prime.

If you want good (not great) house, try and get your hands on the European 2011 Annual.

That's virtually a dance album.
