We've had many threads involving NRL, but never a general discussion and with the trials starting. What better time to make one.

I'm watching Dragons vs Souths now... only because they're not televising the good game, being Roosters and Tigers

Picks for the year my fellow New South Welshmen? Premiers, Wooden Spoons? If I had to put money on it, I'd go Roosters this year, Tigers will still definitely win though, we're leading the Roosters 12-6 and it's only ten minutes in. [MOG]

Do we want a full ladder with W/L and point margins or just teams and points?

James Tamou he was born in New Zealand, moved to Australia when he was 14 yrs old, played for the NZ Maori, Jnr Kiwis and last year he was selected in the New Zealand national team's train-on squad for the Four Nations, although he was not selected in the final squad for the tournament. To New Zealanders he's a traitor.

Well he was only born in NZ but spend most of his life in Australia but there's many NZ Players who where born in Australia but James Tamou spend most of in NZ and played for NZ in his pre NRL career. Before a player to play representative matches they need to sign a contract of alliagence so u can be born and raised in Russia, come and live to Australia 1 year, have Australian citizenship and play for Australia after they sign the alliagence contract.

Tamou has lived in Australia since he was a teenager. I think everyone is getting to worked up at this issue.

Take a look at the English cricket team and the U.S. soccer team. Around half the players are from different countries but there is half the fuss compared to Tamou.

The kid has lived a decent part of his life in AUS and he wants to give back by representing his country.

Aaahh, yeah fair point but if he didn't qualify for NZ but did for Australia, isn't that more of a thing that falls back on NZ?

I 110% agree with you once a player promise and pledge alliagence to a country to play professionally and accept you that's ok it doesn't matter where ur from. :)
