No vile, they actually aren't related to brokencyde.

TBH I think TDWP are possibly one of the only metal/hardcore bands I have seen that are able to sing high and scream deeply effectively.

There's a pretty big difference between their older stuff and their newer stuff, hey tiberius?

Haha, yep. I much prefer there newer stuff to be honest. I love the singing, it really is amazing and unique for a metal band, which is a good thing :) I think they changed for the better, they used to e a typical metal band, but now there so much more. They use so much more singing now then they used to.

Songs like 'Dez Moines' really show how the combination of high singing with relatively low screamo/growls can work exceptionally well. ;)

What a coincidence, I was listening to dez moines when you mentioned that :p

Have you noticed how the overall tone seems brighter and in a higher pitch completely? I was just comparing dez moines to Dogs can grow beards all over and I noticed how the overall pitch is higher, from the screaming to the instruments.

Yeah, definitely. I've noticed the lead guitar in particular seems to be a lot more energetic with an overall higher pitch in most songs as well.

I actually would like to see the synth get a bit more use, or possibly even be a bit louder.

I don't really notice the synth that much in there songs, but when I do I enjoy it. I only hear it when it's on it's own. Other then that, I hear it in the background, but it's very unnoticable unless you concentrate on it.

Yeah, I think it's mainly noticeable in certain parts of Dez Moines but in the heavier songs you can barely hear it.

Just listening to 'And the sentence trails off' Very noticable, they use it alot towards the end of the song, I'm liking :)

I love the guitar that starts that song off, haha. The screaming sounds a lot different as well, quite bland compared to the newer songs.

See, that's the problem..."core" bands focus the majority of their energy trying to sound more "br00tal" (or working on their haircuts) than the last band. As a result, you get not only carbon copies of a stale genre but also copies that lack any real musical ability or talent. When I hear more than 5 breakdowns in a single song...then repeated for an entire album...times 4 or 5, then I know that band has absolutely no musical credibility.

That's not to say metal/deathcore is entirely bad...I'm personally a massive fan of Between the Buried and Me, Parkway Drive and Converge. If a band can manage to create interesting and enjoyable music without falling to cliches and mediocrity, then they gain my respect. if a band is simply defined by how "br00tal" their breakdowns are, they're not worth my time.

Yeah, fair enough raro. I hate the overuse of breakdowns as well, it seems to be relatively stereotypical for metalcore bands to have at least 2-3 per song, which tends to ruin it a lot.

I hear ya.

I'm personally a massive fan of Between the Buried and Me, Parkway Drive and Converge.

I definitely don't want to get into a sub-genre argument but I honestly don't think Converge could be lumped in as a metalcore band. They are a genre unto their own.

I hate bands where every album is the same and no sign of change or maturing music. For example, Slipknot. Their first self titled album was really heavy, loud and full of screaming and anger and rage. Now with their new album, All Hope Is Gone, their music is more melodic and varied and more mature. They still have their heavy and loud stuff like All Hope Is Gone and then they have their more melodic stuff like Gehenna and Child Of Burning Time and then their really soft, attack your emotions which is Snuff.

Soooo true. I actually HATE AC/DC. I don't understand how people can listen to that singer (idk his name, lol). It's as if he swallows a cup full of gravel before each show.
