Sequels worse than their predecessors

Dragon Age 2 - Crap story and awful combat. Very disappointing when you consider the first Dragon Age game.

Mass Effect 3 - I'd say neither ME2 or ME3 were as good (as an RPG) as ME1, but ME2 is definitely better than ME3 imo.

MW2 - Obvious inclusion is obvious.

What sequels do you think were worse than the predecessor?

Idk I think 2 was better in some ways but 1 was better in others. They were pretty even

The pacing in 2 was just horrible for me.
Was a ton of story at the start, then almost none through all the Disney worlds, then a ton of story, then none as you go through all the worlds AGAIN and then tons.
And they took out the exploration.
The physics and controls were better but that's all tbh.

Yeah I'll agree with you I was like 11-12 playing 2 (my first kingdom hearts) and I found it very confusing because of how much story there is in points I had to finish it twice to actually get it

Am I the only one who thought Prime 2 was epic?? The story was so much deeper than the original (and then deeper again in 3/Corruption). I think the 3D Metroid games need that.

Prime 1 was absolutely epic in its own respect but I truly think Echoes was every bit as good. My only criticism of Echoes is limited ammunition. That was silly. :)

Mario Kart Wii.

I think I hated it more for its control scheme then it's gameplay.

Street fighter 4. I have it and I just don't like it considering how much I enjoyed the previous iterations - perhaps the updated version of street fighter 4 improved on things but that just annoyed me even more. I should have known better. Streetfighter X tekken is a far more enjoyable and rewarding game.

Wasn't the same.

Although, did you play the original Prime when it launched?

It was a totally different experience at the time since it felt so amazing and groundbreaking - something that doesn't happen anymore.

That's a really good point. I was quite young when it launched but yes, I was absolutely amazed!

Prime felt groundbreaking because it took Metroid first-person. It was a very cool, unique shooter for the time. Halo certainly felt inspired by it in some regards.

Prime 2 is so hard and I definitely prefer the first one, which still looks amazing even by today's standards.

I can't understand why this thread died.

I think that many of the Spiderman games after Spiderman 64 or the one on the GameCube would be worse than their predecessors.
