News is starting to roll out for 2K's next installation in their NBA 2K series, so let's start up a discussion.

Who will be getting this and what cover do you want?

I'll be trading my 2K11 for this. Not sure which cover to get yet, maybe the Magic one. :D

Sounds nice! The live ball physics sounds good, can't run into teammates and the opposition carelessly now it seems.

I was using a xbox360 controller so I can use that as an excuse because I'm not familiar with that controller it just feels strange cause I'm used to a PS3 controller.

In my player we are 5-7 but we did beat the Mavs and only just lost to the Heat.

It's so addictive I played 12 games back to back!

6"6' shooting guard, went 16 to the 76ers, half way through the season and I'm the starting 2 with a very remodelled phily. They traded iggy, jrue holiday and Thaddeus young away and we now have Rudy gay, oj mayo and Paul George, including Earl boykins who is our starting pg. Team looks like 1 - Earl boykins 2 - me 3 - Rudy gay 4 - Elton brand 5 - marreese speights with oj and George coming off the bench. I'm averaging 16 ppg 4 rpg and 2 stlpg. High score so far is 37 with 12 boards and 5 steals. Absolutely loving this game and am yet to try out the greatest mode!

After 18 games got a bunch of endorsements inc. Dime mag, 2K mag, a bunch of team billboards and even my own Where Amazing Happens commercial.

I've taken over the starting PG spot over Steph Curry and the team is currenty 15-3, first in the West.

How long quarters and what difficulty you guys playing?

I am only playing 5 minute quarters on my one. 12 minutes on this feels like it drags on a lot more than 2K11.

I noticed that if you look at the rookie report there are only 3 rookies. Yourself, Rubio and some other person. The other rookie from the draft aren't in any of through teams that they were drafted to.

Yea hence why I said, it's hard to win the Roy :P imo the 12 minute quarters are the best they've ever been. Scores are a lot more realistic and they continue to update the notifications of what's going on elsewhere in the league in a positive direction. Can't see how it would drag on compared to 2k11 when it's still the same amount of time

The gameplay just feels a little slower than 2K11 to me, which makes it feel like it's going for longer. Still enjoyed it when I tried out 12 minute quarters the first few games in my player. LeBron in mine was scoring around 38ppg for me though. :E

Not sure if anyone of you guys played pick up games in my player. It was an online mode where you take your player against other peoples players. Me and my friends always played it in 2K11. I don't think it is in 2K12 anymore. Sucks how they removed that.

In your my player settings, 12 min quaters and was it set to 'simulation'?? Just wondering for myself also. mine wasn't and my team's avg assists per game was 15 more than rest of league!!!

I found gameplay to be tweaked, more reliance on your own ability to control around the defense. Animations kind of got you around the tough screen and the like over the past few years, but it's a lot harder now, and the matches are slower because of it. Teams like NY, Denver player a very quick gameplan, whereas teams like Chicago, LA, Boston slow things down, turn things into a real grind, which I reckon makes the experience considerably more rewarding. I feel slower matches and more of an emphasis on defense makes a sports game feel more like a "sim", and FIFA and PES both benefited from this agenda as well I reckon.

At first when I was playing 12 minute quarters he was getting the 38ppg. I don't change the game style to simulation. Just leave that on default.

I might actually move back up to 12 minute quarters. Just to try it out again. Not really concerned on how fast I make it to the end of each season. Just want to have some fun on the court. I'm starting now, so no more long bench times.

I got some error, could have been that one. Try use the details of your PSN instead of something different and it should work... well it did for me

Of course lebron is going to be getting 38ppg early on, everyone scores big at the start of the season. Kevin Martin was averaging around 45 for my first 5 or so games.

It slows the game down, brings it down to a realistic pace so that the outcome better reflects a real-life match. It works well in a game of basketball because the sport's at it's best when it's a slow, defensive grind until the end. Fast-paced offense-heavy matches get old, quickly, and teams that play that style never get far. So yeah, they slow the game down to that so the game represents the game in the best and most realistic light. Definitely for the better.

I'm still waiting for 90-minute football games with realistic scores.

In Wallabie Rugby Challenge you can play a full 80 minute game. My guess is if you actually played that game for that long you would end up destroying your console in rage :P
