Yeah I'm thinking of changing my preorder to get standard but I'll still have to get it at EB as they get two DLC preorder packs, hopefully I can price match Harvey Normans price & still get the DLC.

Too many good games like Borderlands & Darksiders 2 which I could put the extra $70 bucks on not to mention AC3 & Bioshock infinite.

It won't be necessary, but if I were you I'd definitely at least play the first game. If you can't get it on PC, it was just released on iOS as Max Payne mobile for $2.99

I played the 360 version, but I was a little sad to hear that if they had known I'm a PC gamer they would have shown me the PC build. :(

You won't be able to price match and get the DLC. You can try :D

After finishing Red Dead I'm pumped for my next rockstar game and Max Payne looks awesome from the two official trailers plus the cinematic featurette.

2 and a half weeks till it hits, and it looks 9.5/10 at this stage.
