Games that did not deserve Sequels

There are some games that just flat out suck. Some games are terrible for many reasons. There are games that no one talks good of, games you tell others to avoid an encourage to stay away from, yet a lot of these games get sequels. Usually for a quick cash grab by the developers, these games get more to their franchise library when they really never deserved a sequel at all. Whether the sequel was good is irrelevant, that's not what this thread is about. I'd like to know what games you think we're bad enough to not warrant the sequel get got.

Assassins Creed
Kane & Lynch
Army of Two

Are just a few I can think of at the moment. The original Assassins creed was dull an repetitive. The gameplay was fun at first but soon became tedious as all hell. I held off playing part two for a long
Time because i hated the first one so much. That's something I regret, as the sequel (an all subsequent sequels) was great.

Kane and lynch an army of two were both okayish games that each had there fair share of problems. Both had lousy gameplay (the AI in both games flat out sucked) and bad controls. I was baffled that both of these games got sequels. Both of these sequels were just as bad too.

What do you guys think?

I think Assassin's Creed deserved a second chance to strut it's stuff. While the first felt quite tedious and repetitive, the second fixed (imo) all the flaws the first game had. It really shows what it was that they wanted to do the first time around, but just didn't get right.
As much as you're trolling, I agree. The game was getting stale, now it's just rotten.

I'll probably get booed for this, but Uncharted wasn't worthy if a sequel. It wasn't a bad game, but it certainly wasn't great. Part 2 is great though.
I thought uncharted was worthy of a sequel. Personal preference I guess.
Carnival games.

That's all that comes to mind at the moment.
Crackdown.

I LOVE the game, but I never in a million years thought they'd give it a sequel, didn't think the series had staying power to warrant a sequel.

That's another one that surprised me too.
Fear 2 was alright but boy did Fear 3 fall short.
I think it's harsh on Kane and Lynch 2. While it's not the best third person shooter, it's far better than Army of Two.

Halo 4 is not needed. Anyone with me on this? Story ended at a nice point, why push it?

Games may have good ideas or concepts at heart but just failed to show it but sequels could totally improve the game like assassins Creed 2 did quite a good job in improvement from 1

Ooooh, Dead Island.

Unless they can seriously improve on all aspects, then Rip Tide will be rubbish. Awful characters, no real challenge, boring character design, weapons system was awkward in the sense that you didn't really need upgrades, just wait til the next chapter, you get far better ones. No real fear of Death, just money loss. The list goes on.

CoD...
I love sequels no matter how the first in the series turned out. Even when the sequels aren't that good.

Halo 4 is a nice addition. It's not needed, but it looks good rather than a simple cash in.
I don't think Galaxy 2 was warranted, to be honest. Great game, but I could have lived without it.
Resident Evil Darkside Chronicles, good game, just really crappy camera than the first.

It looks good, but I just feel like their pushing Master Chiefs story a bit much. Why are the covenant evil again? Also, I trusted Bungie. 343, not so much yet.

They should of stopped at Fable one.
I agree with Mario Galaxy and Halo 3. I loved both of those games (still do) but they really didn't/don't need sequels. I personally hated Dead Island, I certainly won't be getting the sequel to it.
I love how @Snix points out that it doesn't matter how good a sequel is, the thread is about games that didn't deserve a sequel and everyone jumps on the Assassin's Creed 2 was good bandwagon.

I agree with @Snix the first AC did not warrant a sequel at all. The first game was beyond tedious, and while AC. 2 was good, it shouldn't have happened.

BioShock 2 don't need to happen. I'm okay with Infinite - same universe but not a direct sequel, but BS2 was just a load of BS.

One more the comes to mind - No More Heroes 2. Once again the sequel kicked ass but the first game had enough flaws that a sequel shouldn't have appeared. I'm sure glad it did though!
I wanna see a BF: Bad Company 3 after seeing the ending makes u want to see what they're going to do nxt.
@Heller
I'm going to stand my ground regarding AC. A flawed first impression does not mean that it doesn't deserve a sequel. If it did, sequels would become notoriously bad like many movie sequels.

While I strongly believe AC2 should have happened, though I can't say the same about Bro'hood and Revelations.
@Heller
No More heroes is another perfect example of what I'm saying. I did like the first one, but once I finished it I wasn't thinking to myself "Man! That games was great! Part 2 is surely on the way after a performance like that!"
I would even go so far as to say Portal didn't deserve a sequel. I'm glad they did, but I couldn't see how they could warrant another title that would be otherwise DLC.

I never played the first one properly, so I had no real affinity toward it. When part 2 came out I just bought it on a whim and fell in love. Hmmm, that gives me an idea.
