What Made You Join The Community?

Hey guys, Thought it'd be interesting to share what made you join the MMGN / MySites community. I'll start with mine.

Back in August of 2009, I was browsing the internet for accessories and games for my 360. During my google adventures i didn't realize, But i got linked to a website called My360.com.au - At first i didn't think much of it, But i checked the accessories page and then went on my way. A while later (few months?) i randomly thought "Hey, i wonder what else was on that website?"
I couldn't think of the name so i tried a few different google searches and finally came across it. Now upon browsing into various threads and having a quick look see, I really enjoyed the vibes and type of community that i saw. There was something about it that just grabbed my attention. So then i made an account... In which i had no idea what to use for a username (this is the first and only gaming website i've ever joined or really looked at) so i decided to use the song i was listening to as a username (Cypress Hill FTW!) [Derp]

TL;DR? - Ignore my story and share why you joined the community :)

In March '08, Googled something about SSBB, winded up in the second, I think, SSBB discussion thread. Found myself reading the posts. My brother actually looked over and identified one of the members as his classmate, hahaha.

Brawl was released by then, but not in Australia. I didn't sign up right away, it was a couple of days after I first found MyWii. I wanted to seek out players on Wi-Fi, and since it was an Australian community and it had an FC thread already, I thought I could find some players. I didn't think I'd stay long at all. Flash-forward to now, I still play Wi-Fi, though not as much. I rarely post outside the SSBB thread now, though I have stray posts every now and then. I don't post as much in general, I lurk for the most part. =P

Originally @Shitashi aka djkaion showed me MyWii on Aussie-Nintendo, which prompted me to attempt to troll MyWii, but...

I became attached to the community somehow. lol

After a brief stint posting elsewhere on the site, I eventually stopped, and now only really post in other threads that absolutely 100% interest me (unless I'm stalking someone; the only reason I came into this thread was because Kiri was the last poster).

So now I just stay in the Brawl thread and comment on most Wii news articles, although I know some members prefer it this way~

I found MyDS when I was into DS games and found some interesting articles so I bookmarked the site. I visited it every now and then but then there was a job advertised for a Wiiware reviewer, applied and got it, then joined the community after that :)

I can't remember what I was looking for but I came across my360, lurked for a bit and decided I liked what I saw and joined. Now I spend more time in the PC section rather than 360...

First channel I joined was MyWii by June of 2007. The community back then was hilariously retarded and I wanted to be a part of that. I later branched out to MyPS3 where I got to know some of the most wonderful group of people ever - they made me feel welcomed and I can't thank them enough for that. MMGN back then was a major priority of my life. :P

I first came here cos someone that I used to talk to online was trolling someone in the SSBB mini site and he linked me to the thread. I joined up a while after that and only posted on the mini site, then I found the main MyWii site by accident and started posting there as well, and I stuck around mostly because of the members and the feel of community this site has.

I hung around reading the wii and 360 forums for a year or two, then when myfrag got released i mainly hung around reading that. Then oneday someone asked a question about changing the region code on a disc drive, so i signed up and helped them :)

I only really post in the SSBB thread but I also post on mywii at times and I'm trying my best to help the Retro channel now.

My story goes way back to 2005 when I first purchased my psp. The website you had to register your psp at to get a free copy of Spiderman was yourpsp.com.au. I didn't have the piece of paper with me and thought it was mypsp.com.au. Here I am :-P
