Undubbing - good or bad?

Undubbing is a process of taking audio from the original game regardless of where its from and replacing the audio of the translated dubbed game in your own language. This is mostly extremes caused because the companies refuse to provide dual audio or because the original is always superior.

So thoughts, is undubbing a good or bad thing?

I'm annoyed that RPGs get voices at all. I mean back in the day you play a RPG you read the bloody text box instead of listen to a Japanese character speak with an american accent.

I undub all my games with exceptions like the Professor Layton series since its voices do match the character but otherwise I rather play with no audio than listen to some horrible american voice actor who has less talent than my foot.

Kid Icarus Uprising better have dual audio otherwise its not even worth getting which adds to how stupid region lock is and another crap game for the 3ds.

I don't mind dubbing, as long as it's done properly. For example, this is how you should not do dubbing. It's from STALKER: Call of Pripyat, and while the original Russian voices are very grave and serious and rough, the English voice actors make pretty much every Stalker sound like a Russian surfie.

The really bad part is that you can't just use Russian voices because there are no general subtitles. Only conversations are translated, and even with a subtitle mod you still end up walking around with Stalkers telling you this and that and you having zero idea what's going on (which incidentally already happens for half of the English voiceover which, for some reason, was left in Russian).
