Monster Cyclone headed for Qld

33263 Views 205 Posts MMGN.com
I searched and suprisingly found nothing about this. Cyclone Yasi is expected to hit Qld around 12-1am tonight. Being 10 times the size of Cyclone Tracey that flatened Darwin several years ago, Cyclone Yasi is currently sitting in Category 5; the highest category. I'm not quite sure what to say other then, my thoughts go out to those unfortunate people in Queensland, who have only just begun reconvering from the damage the recent floods caused.

Information on Cyclone Yasi can be found in th following links, including a live tracker.

My father and I would like to personally wish everyone out there our best regarding this terrible situation. Whether family, friends, or mere concern. This is a very worrying time for many people, we're both and I'm sure all wishing you - everyone the best.

Pincha.
i find it rather amusing personally, that people chose to stay to begin with. the only people huddling for safety are people who were dumb enough to not leave.

but in general i find it hilarious because they choose to live in queensland knowing that it gets hit by cyclones and floods. they live in danger zones and expect sympathy for the choices they made.

That's just low, very low... pretty much all Australia is a danger zone, whether it be; floods, bush fires, cyclones etc... [Facepalm]

I agree with the first part, kind of. Worded more nicely.

The second part is a bit of a dick statement, dude.

When i ordered my laptop processor it was time of the floods.. and apparently international stuff in the 'ems' category goes to brisbane.. and so it got lost there and i never got it.

earlier today i ordered something again.. bet it wont get here because of the cyclone.

WHY DOES MY LIFE HAVE TO BE SO HARD (yes i said that intentionally because i want to be fed)

Edit;
the cyclone has the shape of north america :/

I DON'T KNOW. It makes no sense to me, either.
what so you really think im wrong?

do you go and live in bad neighbourhood with high crime rates deliberately? do you deliberately hang out with criminals? Do you deliberately live in the desert where its hot?

its the same thing, people who live in queensland and rural areas put themselves at risk. There's a point where natural disaster is just a case of pure unluckiness, for those people I feel for, but not for those who survive the floods, or cyclone larry. then LIVE IN EXACTLY THE SAME PLACE expecting it not to happen again. that sir is stupidity, and the first sign of insanity. doing the same thing repeatedly expecting different results.

Karma isn't real, silly.

If it were, I would be long dead.

That's dependent on your view. I personally had no idea QLD was a flood zone, so I would have lived there before this year. As for living in neighbourhoods with high crime rates? Where the **** do you think I live? -_-' For the past 5 years, I've lived in four out of the five worst suburbs in Victoria (for all those whom are curious, Frankston, Pakenham, Cranbourne, and Reservoir (the last being some suburb in Geelong).

All your points are moot in regards to the rest of the world. They agree with you. No-one else. You're arguing you live in the perfect part of Australia.

However, living in the tropics does beget cyclones.

That pretty well debunks sword's entire argument.

EDIT: iamtom, if you've left Footscray out of your top 5 and left Cranbourne in, then you've obviously not been to many places.

I've moved all over Victoria. Literally :\

Footscray isn't too bad, if you know how to handle it.

I ****ING LOVE CRANBERRIES

All of these happen in the following
So you can't live in...
WA - Bushfires, Cyclones
SA - Bushfires, Earthquake, Floods
Victoria - Bushfires, Floods
NSW - Bushfires
QLD - Bushfires, Cyclones, Floods
TAS - Bushfires
NT - Bushfires, Cyclones

You ask why do they stay there, well do you live with your parents or are you actualy out on your own or have a family??
Bit hard to just pick up your stuff and go somewhere new, family friends so on!!
If it wasn't for people in the rural area which u refer to as "idiots" Australia would stop, we rely alot on farmers and watch how much fruit, beef and so on go up with the devastation going on in QLD.

I'm sorry but the way you are going on seems like you are 15 maybe still living at home with no idea how things really work
