Here's the deal - this is the last shot MMGN has at a regular podcast.

Since we moved into the office we actually were able to get a regular schedule happening. We called the last series QuickScope as we were directed to run a lean, mean and quick overview of the weeks events.

It was bad, really bad.

We looked at what other podcasts were doing - they were either running for 2 hours, talking about what they had for breakfast, or they were 100% regurgitation of the news items for the week.

We aimed for somewhere in the middle.

Every week we aim to have a special guest - whether that be members of the MMGN Editorial Team, local MMGN members, developers, indie guys or hobos we find off the street.

We're going to talk about the big events for the week, and just talk about some of our gaming experiences.

Each podcast will be approximately 40 - 60 minutes, and will be featured on a new iTunes feed called Random Grenades, and will be embedded on the MMGN page via Soundcloud.

Each week we're also going to launch the Random Grenades Discussion - a quick discussion about a topic or problem in the industry or something that has happened here at MMGN. These play out as 10-20 minutes arguments pretty much, and are usually hilarious.

These will only be available for iTunes subscribers. We will post a "preview" via Soundcloud to entice you to join us.

Basically if we don't have 500 subscribers in six months, the powers at be will shut down the podcast. We believe it can flourish, and be a new way to interact with you guys on a more relaxed level.

We're also looking at hosting some live-streaming podcast events, where you guys can interact with questions and comments via the live chat, and these will be posted on iTunes the next day.

We're also doing a live podcast at the Freeplay Festival here in Melbourne.

I'll post links to the new feed when it is up, but it would be great to get feedback and support here!

Sounds like you might be more interested in our Random Grenades Discussions - which run for approximately 15 minutes.

The longer running time is for the dedicated listener who has the time to join us as we just talk about the industry at random, whereas these discussions are short, concise arguments and discussions.

They launch on Thursdays! Thanks for your feedback though, it means a lot. If everyone feels the same, then we can look at changing it. I feel that there is room for both formats, to keep everyone happy.

[Facepalm] A lot of this is written in the OP sorry for not reading that.

But I do feel you're right in the way you have implement the two different versions for the serious/non serious viewers it's going to be a good way to keep all happy.

Rendering and uploading today's podcast as we speak. A few things worth noting:

1) We were interrupted during the filming which definitely ruined out flow.

2) Our two guests both cancelled this morning, which threw up our topic quite a bit also.

3) The camera quality issue is due to lighting.

Next week's edition will be rad, I promise!

We'll have the green screen working (hopefully) with an awesome new background for you all to look at. During the news segment there will also be a little box popping up with a picture of the title we are talking about, kinda like a news broadcast.

We'll be featuring a game trailer as an "intermission" between the news and us just talking about the week sections. These will promote Aussie releases when they have trailers, otherwise it will be our favourite trailer of the week.

We have a designer working on a brand new title sequence and actual titles so we can have people's names, and website links come up on the screen in a pretty way.

ONCE these features have been implemented we will be launching the new iTunes feeds!
