While a thrilling single-player story is always a great experience, sometimes you want to game with friends. More often than not, it's more of a challenge convincing your friends to buy a new game than it is finding one. So for the cheapskates out there, or people who have tightarses for friends, here's 5 awesome co-op games for under $15.
Serious Sam 3: BFE
You may have played co-op shooters before, but have you ever completed a campaign with 16 friends? That's the kind of multiplayer chaos that Serious Sam 3: BFE provides. Watch the fireworks as you and your friends complete the full 12 level campaign, filled with relentless enemies, insane weaponry and many laughs to be had!
Shank 2
Shank 2 has a pretty decent story, but the co-op is definitely a lot of fun. It pits two people against hordes of enemies in an arcade-style slice and dice, beat-em-up situation. Friends will need to work together, and dispense pain and suffering equally to better their scores. Well worth a look if you plan on playing the single-player campaign, otherwise it may be a little too short for a co-op only game.
Shoot Many Robots
Borderlands meets Metal Slug, Shoot Many Robots pits 4 friends against many robots. Your objective? To shoot anything and everything that moves. With a huge upgrade and item unlock system, there will be plenty of reasons to go back to this shoot-em-up adventure. Oh, and if you buy it in a 4 pack to gift to your friends, it's even cheaper!
Trine 2
If you prefer a thinking man's co-op experience, then Trine 2 will be right up your alley. Three friends can team up as a wizard, a knight and an assassin as they move throughout the magical landscapes and solve physics-based puzzles and taking out an onslaught of enemies. Gorgeous, humerous and challenging, Trine 2 is certainly worth checking out.
Magika
Magika is a witty, satirical adventure/RPG game that truly stands out from the crowd. Offering four-player co-op on this wondrous journey, players will take on a number of strange and deadly beasts while chaining their various powers together for some devastating attacks. Also don't forget that if you buy it as part of a four-pack, you can all chip in and save some extra cash!
